PROJECT BRIEF
NEXT is opening a new office in Dallas, Texas. We have several clients based in this area and it’s important for us to build new workplace locations where we can connect in a meaningful way with our clients. We would like to create a design task force team that ensures new ideas and creativity Plan and design NEXT’s new Dallas office, measuring approximately 11,000 SF. Do not plan, design or alter building core elements, such as restrooms, elevators, building stairs, and utility rooms labeled NIC (Not in Contract). We would like our new space to reflect our company brand and culture and draw inspiration from the local region.

CONCEPT
To braid or weave something together means to bring three or more strands of things together to form one braid. I think this concept is very applicable to the workplace. The departments are woven together to work on projects. The individual people form the strands that make up the “braid”: And minds to the table working side by side with other individuals to create one final product. Each individual is still visible in the final product at close inspection, but as a whole the project is a new thing entirely. This can be brought out in the material choices of the space easily. Pulling the ceiling and floor planes into the working plane also will incorporate this concept of braiding into the space and create a more cohesive workplace.
