For this program we did 3 weeks of online work before meeting and studying Disney World in Florida for a week. We were put into groups, and each assigned a land to study. Within that land we were each tasked to individually study a ride or experience. My group was assigned Epcot and I studied the ride "Frozen Ever After" on my own.
During our online time we studied how theme parks work on many different levels. We focused on Disney as a whole, but we also talked about a few other parks as a comparison. Once at Disney World, we talked again about the design and function of the parks while walking around and comparing our concepts and ideas to real world examples. During the week we also participated in the Disney Imagination Program where we got to walk around Magic Kingdom with an employee. During this time, she had us create our own concept for a new theme park. At the end of our tour, we went backstage and create a model of our park as a group.
This link will lead you to a google folder that contains all of the papers we had to write for the program. Most were individual, but a few were done as a group.
